In the fight for healthier hair, longer hair, stronger hair and to help people experiencing hair loss and irritated scalp, I have created a hair care series that, in addition to optimizing any normal hair, should also help the irritations the scalp can also experience. Perfect balance for hair and scalp. Whether it's sun-damaged hair, dry hair, dry scalp or oily scalp, my hair series should bring hair and scalp back into balance, so that everyone can experience optimal hair and a scalp that's just in balance.
The scent in this series is taken from my experiences with dried herbs at the end of the summer where heather, water mint, pine, birch, velvet grass, sedge, mandrake and everything else hangs to dry on the herb ceiling. The shampoo reminds me of the sweet scent of dried nettle and heather, where my conditioner reminds me of freshly harvested water mint and heart grass. The scents are clean and very natural nature scents with a touch of childhood playing in nature.
Witch hazel, this amazing plant has been used for centuries especially for hair and scalp and there is a lot of research around this plant. Witch hazel increases the hair follicles' production of keratin, which is the protein your hair is made of. Witch hazel extends the life of the hair and reduces the resting time of the hair follicle, which is why exactly witch hazel and nettle are always used together against hair loss, or when you want thicker hair. Troldhassen helps against a scalp that creates too much sebum and therefore makes the hair greasy and heavy. Witch hazel helps against irritations such as eczema and not least dandruff. Witch hazel is also very deeply cleansing.
Stinging Nettle Extract from Nettle Herb- For thousands of years, stinging nettle has been used to promote luscious, shiny hair. Stinging nettle supports the overall health and growth of hair as nettle offers essential vitamins and minerals that can benefit hair health, including vitamins A, B, C, D and E, along with minerals such as folate, riboflavin, magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron and manganese . This cocktail of essential nutrients contributes to healthy shiny hair. Nettle also contains silica, which makes hair and nails stronger and promotes hair growth by boosting blood flow. Nettle also has the ability to strengthen and relax blood vessels, aid in circulation and increase the amount of oxygen and nutrients received by the scalp. As a result, the hair can grow stronger and longer.
Both witch hazel and nettle can inhibit the formation of DHT. Studies show that witch hazel and nettle extract have the ability to block dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone produced by testosterone that, when overproduced, can cause thinning of your hair and hair loss. By reducing the production of the 5 alpha-reductase enzyme (the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to DHT), witch hazel and nettle can prevent this DHT imbalance. When there is too much DHT in the body, the hair growth cycle and the quality of the keratin your hair is made of are shortened.
Green Algae – a combination of a microalgae extract rich in NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factors) boosting amino acids which provide a fast-acting moisturizing property. On the hair, these amino acids form a very fine shield which protects the hair from drying out. By covering the hair, the Algae can also condition, i.e. protect it when you style your hair with products or heat. Under a microscope, an effect can be detected already after the first hair wash.
Sea buckthorn extract – the extract helps to increase the elasticity of the skin/scalp, helps to retain its natural moisture. This increased elasticity helps the polyunsaturated oils, which sea buckthorn also contains, to draw down into the hair follicles. These vitamins have a lengthening cycle on the hair follicle's production of keratin which gives stronger hair.
Wheat protein or as it is called Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is a microprotein that penetrates deep into the hair fibers, strengthens, repairs, protects and strengthens the hair from the inside. it is quickly absorbed and helps reduce hair breakage or splitting when and if you use heat or products to style your hair. Thanks to its soothing properties, it also soothes the scalp. Studies show a reduction in hair breakage of up to 80% and should work already after the first hair wash.
Sodium PCA is a natural ingredient that looks like salt and is extracted from the remains of plants and fruits we use in the food industry. Sodium PCA is a humectant that draws moisture to your hair and scalp and helps retain moisture, which means that it is often used in the fight against dry hair, split hair, irritated scalp, hair that is heat-treated with blow dryers, flat irons, etc. The moisture-retaining effect also results in softer and more uniform hair and a calmer scalp.
Vitamin E Tocopherol – is a powerful antioxidant and one of the most used vitamins in the beauty industry. Many products on the beauty market for rosacea and other inflammatory skin irritations (irritations with redness and heat) contain vitamin E. Vitamin E strengthens the skin's defenses against the breakdown of cells (cell aging) and against free oxygen radicals from the polluted air around us. In this way, vitamin E helps your skin in the fight against signs of aging and general damage from UV rays and pollution. It comes in eight different forms, but only two of them, tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol, can be absorbed through the skin. They are therefore the ones you can find on the ingredient list of your products.
Levenol H&B mild co-surfactant glycerin derivative with moisturizing and softening effect. It is a concentrate of natural organic glycerin. Glycerin benefits the skin barrier by drawing water from the air to keep the skin hydrated and minimize water loss. Glycerin can remain in the skin for a while, helping the skin retain moisture even when exposed to harmful environmental influences such as pollution, sunlight and other external influences.
