Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate

Coconut fat salt is called Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (SMCT). It sounds chemical, but Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taturate is so mild that it is precisely intended for use in baby products and even toothpaste. SMCt, is extracted from the coconut flesh and salt from coconut fatty acid amide. It is a white paste-like substance that is completely odorless.
When water is added, it becomes the mildest PH neutral mousse/foam and is used for baby products, people with delicate skin and oral hygiene products
According to Dr. Sandra El Hajj, Founder & President of The American Preventive Health Organization, "Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate or SMCT is the best alternative to hard silicones as it has minimal side effects."
Board-certified Dermatologist Dr. Ahmad Chaudhry, MD, states, “Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate SMCT is incredibly mild, less irritating and does not alter skin pH. As a result, SMCT is suitable for people with sensitive skin, rosacea, acne, peioral dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions.”
This coconut fat salt, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (SMCT) can increase the penetration of other ingredients into the skin. So the minerals and vitamins the volcanic ash contains get optimal opportunities to penetrate and help your skin.
Taurine surfactants can also exhibit antioxidant properties, regulate inflammatory reactions and improve skin barrier function, i.e. per se. Then again, it is helpful for sensitive or irritated skin, as well as safe to use on babies.According to clinical studies, volcanic ash and the coconut fat salt produce the following results: Less dryness, fewer flakes, clearer skin, elasticity, firmness and structure, less oily skin, cleans clogged pores and gives more supple skin as it removes dead skin cells.
