What happens to the skin at night: That's why your evening routine is so important
At night is where your skin works hardest to restore itself. Through studies of human skin throughout the day, we can see that at night is where the skin has the greatest rate of DNA repair. It is therefore at night that the skin has the greatest cell division and in this way repairs all the damage that the skin has been exposed to during the day. The latest studies show that cell division is up to 30 times greater at night than during the day.
The skin forms at night:
30 times more collagen
30 times more elastin
30 times more skin cells
Just to name a few of what happens to your skin at night.
When is it best to apply cream?
It turns out that the skin relaxes its barrier function at night. It spends its energy on protection during the day and is therefore more open at night. This has two consequences, one is that the skin unfortunately loses more moisture at night, but on the other hand, the active ingredients in your products can penetrate and penetrate your skin much more easily.
So the skin is smart enough to protect itself mostly during the day and relax and rebuild itself at night. Therefore, the active and heavy agents must be applied especially at night.
What happens to the skin during the day?
The sun's UV rays together with pollution (and smoking) are the biggest oxidative stress factors for the skin, i.e. the ones that give you your DNA damage. In Danish it can be said that just living a single day helps to break down the skin and in this way give you signs of old age etc. Of course, we can use a lot of products during the day to counteract this, but this article is about what happens at night.
When is the best time to do my evening routine?
The skin has no clock, so you can actually do your evening routine right after dinner. There are, of course, remedies that break down during the evening/night, but if the question is whether or not you can apply it to your evening routine, I would always recommend that you rather get it at 18:00 than not getting it done at all. Perfect time is 30 minutes before you need to sleep, but if I'm very tired myself, I'd rather do it earlier than not get it done at all.
How do you so easily help your skin at night?
If it is to be easy and at the same time very effective, then it must be a dissolved vitamin A with a high percentage and high stability. As well as a fat salve with lots of essential fats. So my skin has received a strong antioxidant that helps with cell division and dissolves impurities, at the same time as I help the skin's barrier with protection and to retain moisture.
Why A-retinoid?
Since vitamin A is fat soluble, so is retinoid. This is why retinoid works in combating blackheads/comedomas/blackheads, which are one and the same thing. The retinoid will dissolve the blockage and therefore also works against acne. Used at night, the retinoid will penetrate all the way down into the basal cell layer, where new skin cells are produced. A skin cell is surrounded by a cell membrane, it is made of fat so retinoid can penetrate and therefore stimulates more collagen and new skin cells. It is the entire structure of your skin that is improved.
It is allowed to sell vitamin A products with up to 5% active ingredient, so of course I think you deserve the allowed 5%.
I give you the new Retinoid, rather than Retinol, as the new and improved Retinoid is more stable and has a proven track record of achieving new and improved skin.
Why Repair ?
Since my Repair is 100% natural, I know that in this way I only get ingredients and agents that my skin can accept. It's bold and makes you glisten like a glazed Christmas ham, but trust me when I say you'll be smiling when you wake up in the morning.
The rich essential fats will enrich your skin and ensure protection when it relaxes its own barrier function at night. And when you add fat yourself, the skin doesn't have to concentrate on it. If you sometimes find that you gain fat during the day, try more fat at night.
Application
After cleansing, I put a dropperful of A-retinoid into the palm of my hand and distribute it between two hands before massaging the A-retinoid into the skin. I myself love this little face massage that doesn't have to take more than 1 minute.
By my bedside table is my Repair . And when I lie down on the pillow, I warm up a delicious dab of Repair between two hands and apply to face, neck, hands and feet.
Yes, it's greasy, but the signs of aging are clearly visible on the hands and my feet feel so wonderfully soft.
Enjoy.
